These are devices inserted into your footwear to act as shock absorbers and cushion or distribute pressure across the foot. They support your arch, heels, or toes, and help improve your foot comfort. Gel, plastic, foam, insoles are available in a variety of materials. While choosing the right insoles, we need to consider your foot size, footwear type, body weight, activity, and the pathology you have or your requirement. For example, a patient with diabetes or arthritis has different needs compared to a jogger with posture problems.

Orthotics

Orthotics are tailored to your foot shape and structure to redistribute pressure, give you relief from pain, and restore the natural functions of your foot. Customised orthotics are one of your best options to provide shock absorption, proprioception support and stability. They do not hinder normal foot or lower limb motion. Orthotics in conjunction with stretches and strengthening programme can be of great help in running, walking and sports. Podiatrists or sports medicine specialists may use 2D or 3D scanners to get an accurate model of your foot. Your biomechanics, foot injury if any, the sport type, and your footwear are taken into consideration before customising your orthotics.

Gait Analysis

The way you walk may say a lot about your flexibility and strength. Gait analysis is used to plan pain and injury prevention or management programmes for sports involving running. This is a very important tool to understand your lower limb alignment and detect any abnormality, if present. Bone Age Assessment / Skeletal Maturity Determination

Knowing the correct age is significant in treating certain type childhood disorders. One of the best radiological methods to determine biological maturity level is Bone Age (BA) or Skeletal Maturity Assessment (SMA). This procedure enables physicians to better diagnose and manage growth or endocrine problems in paediatric patients. Besides medical and forensic use of this method in determining a person’s age, the method has great application in sports. Radiology (X-ray) of hand and wrist is studied to determine the age or maturity level.
We perform bone age verifications to screen out players with skeletal maturity that matches tournament guidelines and meets eligibility criteria and help confirm age against paperwork or documents. Running Assessments

A running assessment serves the purpose of performance improvement and injury risk reduction. We use video analysis to look for reasons of recurrent injuries in a sportsperson. The observations can help tailor appropriate exercises and drills to improve the technique, strength, power, speed or endurance of a runner.

Swim Stroke Analysis

Threshold Testing

Our Exercise Physiology is based on the idea that no two athletes necessarily have the same physiology. Understanding individual needs enable accurate calculation and application of intensity levels for training, competition and recovery. Scientific validation of an athlete’s training thresholds keeps some affecting factors in mind, like exercise history, current training program, illness/injury. Best practice is to measure one’s training thresholds through baseline measurements and testing before planning a new programme. You will be able to optimise the efficiency of your training and take more confident steps towards your desired performance outcomes. VO2Max and Anaerobic Threshold

We apply VO2 Max and anaerobic threshold testing to add specificity to the training regimes of coaches and athletes. VO2 max is the maximal oxygen uptake or the maximum amount of oxygen you can use during intense exercise. VO2 max can establish the aerobic endurance of an athlete. Cyclists, runners, triathletes or anybody who wants to identify baseline measures will find this test useful. The data obtained from this test can be used to establish training zones, design intervals, identify talent, monitoring and evaluation of specific training interventions.

Lactate Transition Thresholds

Lactate accumulation in an athlete’s blood is affected by exercise. Lactate threshold is the point you reach when your blood lactate level is increasing faster than it can be metabolised, at a certain intensity of exercise. Lactate Threshold Training can improve high-intensity endurance performance significantly. Compared to V02 Max which is related to an athlete’s genetic potential and natural ability, the right training program can increase lactate threshold to a marked extent.

Submaximal Testing

A determination of VO2max via tests that focus on a less than maximum capacity can be useful for athletes with identified cardiovascular risk factors.

Anaerobic Power Testing

This test helps determine your maximum power output or peak power. Your muscles use non-oxygen source of energy, also called anaerobic energy at that point.

Other Requirements

Medical clearance can be provided for males >45 years and females >55 years. Sportspersons with one or more risk factor for cardiovascular disease need to take a full blood test and get a clearance before consultation.

We educate our clients on the prohibited lists of substances, methods, and other criteria that may have performance enhancing effect, potentially damaging effect on health, or pose a threat against the spirit of sport, as per the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the International Testing Agency (ITA), global Anti-Doping Organisations (ADO) and National Anti-Doping Organisations (NADO). We may also recommend examination of your urine and blood sample for forbidden substances before tournaments to track your adherence to the guidelines.
